Tzatziki!

If I had to pick my favourite type of food Greek would be in the top 3

I just whipped up a batch of homemade Tzatziki sauce and wanted to share the recipe with you all because it's so easy and delicious!

Tonight I plan on making Chicken Slouvlaki

Tzatziki Sauce
'Whitewater Cooks' by Shelley Adams

INGREDIENTS
1 long English cucumber grated and juice drained through a colander
1 cup sour cream
2 cups plain yogurt
zest and juice of 1 lemon
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp dill, finely chopped (fresh if possible)
1/2 tsp mint (optional)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

METHOD
In a large mixing bowl, combine ingredients and mix well

To thicken up thin yogurt, line a colander with paper towel and place it over a bowl
Put the yogurt in the colander and let the liquid drip out for about an hour

Enjoy!

Sequin Crazy

I LOVE dressing up!  And as the holiday season approaches I find myself dreaming of beautiful party dresses.  Sequins are really doing it for me theses days....
LOVE

I could wear these to parties at the lake right?!

I currently only own one piece of sequin clothing (a white tank with sequins covering the front).  I have worn it on several occasions: on its own, with a blazer or with a currently cardigan to dress it down

I think I need to invest in a fabulous sequin dress for this holiday season.  I saw some really cute ones at Joe Fresh (so I don't necessarily need to break the bank)

Bye for now

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Look who was waiting for me curled up at the bottom of the steps when I left the office today

Man I love living in the country...however I think cabin guests have been feeding him because he was so tame, he chased me to me car.  I had to distract him by throwing my trail-mix in the opposite direction...Haha

My cooking inspiration

Hello there and welcome to my first EVER blog post
Upon receiving a cookbook entitled 'Whitewater Cooks with Friends' from my wonderful sister Jenna for a bridal shower gift a few days ago, I became inspired to dust off the pots and pans after a busy summer and fall and get back to the basics of cooking.  My sister is a constant cooking inspiration for me - she makes whipping up a pie crust look like a piece of cake (no pun intended)! Thank you Jenna for the continued inspiration, advice and sister love. This post is for you....

Sopa de black bean with salsa crema w/ a side of Nann bread (I'm a sucker for bread!!)
Kevin (the finance) was a major fan of this soup - spicy and hearty
